September 15th, 2005 - PaM signs a lease on a new temporary location for the medical clinic.

September 11th, 2005 - Toronto EMS Paramedic Tracy, our first volunteer, arrives.

September 8th, 2005 - PaM Peru and PaM Canada are honored at the raising of Mancora's town flag, a monthly ceremony involving the Mayor's office, government and community leaders.

August 21st, 2005 - Josh and Sean walk with Mancora's Centro de Ninos Especiales (Centre for Special Needs Children) in the Dia del Niño (Day of the Child) parade.

August 12th, 2005 - Danielle arrives in Mancora, and a large party is thrown to welcome her.

August 1st, 2005 - An interview with Danielle about her travels and work with PaM is published on the Travel and Transitions website.

July 22nd, 2005 - The students of Alberto Pallete High School, Peruvian Red Cross (Mancora Branch) president Mercedes Alarcón and the Red Cross student volunteers organize a school assembly and ceremony with marching band, to welcome us and introduce us to the community and student volunteers.

July 19th, 2005 - Josh, Miguel and Sean arrive in Mancora.

July 18th, 2005 - Our story and container-loading event receive wonderfully positive media coverage on Toronto news channels CityTV and CTV, and appear in the major Toronto daily newspapers, Toronto Star and Toronto Sun. CityTV names us the "Random Act of Kindness of the Week".

July 17th, 2005 - On Sunday, July 17th, 2005, with the help of volunteers from Toronto EMS, a Firefighter from the GTAA and friends & family, we load and ship out a 20' container filled with more than $50,000 in donated medical supplies and equipment, which is due to arrive in Mancora in August.





June 24, 2005 - El Popular, Toronto's Spanish language daily paper, and torontohispano.com, on their Toronto latino-community news and entertainment website, cover our fundraiser dinner event.

June 17th, 2005 - PaM Canada holds an extremely successful event at the Peruvian restaurant La Cocina de Doña Luz in Toronto. The capacity crowd enjoys fantastic traditional Peruvian food and the funky beats of Afro-Peruvian percussion group Dale Duro.

May 4th, 2005 - Danielle and Josh return from their research and preparation trip to Mancora, having met with community leaders and health care workers, and having found space for the volunteer centre/living quarters. PaM has formed an alliance with the Mancora chapter of the Peruvian Red Cross to assist them to complete the construction of their medical clinic, which PaM will help equip with donations, and in which PaM volunteers will work with local volunteers to create a community medicine program.
